Circle Jerks – Group Sex LP mixed color vinyl

This weekend it will be time to change the clocks ahead so it will no longer get dark out before you get home from work/school and along with the changing of the clocks comes the changing of the colors… of vinyl.

Frontier Records, home of some of the greatest early punk rock album of all time, has just given the first Circle Jerks album a fresh coat of paint in the form of the latest colored vinyl. Do I really need to go into the history of this album again? I’ll give you the cliff notes: It was the Circle Jerks’ first album, it was their best album, and it happens to be one of the best hardcore albums of all time. It is one of those benchmarks by which all future hardcore was and forever will be judged. Oh, and it just so happens to have the singer from that band OFF! that everyone loves these days.

This latest pressing is on mixed colored vinyl. It’s one of those deals where the pressing plant throws whatever colors they have lying around into the mix and as a result you never know what color you will end up with and no two will be identical. Sure most of them probably end up looking like the copy in the photo above, a sort of red/purple swirl with white marbling, but  yours could very well end up gray, or green, or any other mixed up color. Maybe they even had only 16 of them that ended up being on pink vinyl like The Misfits – Legacy of Brutality!

Regardless of what color you may end up with should you grab one for yourself, you will also get a lyric sheet inside of the standard full-color jacket, and the record sounds every good now as it did back when it came out 30 years ago, it has aged like fine wine, except better and won’t get you drunk (though it makes a perfectly good soundtrack for getting drunk).

If you want one for yourself, for about the price of a pizza (or less depending on where you eat) you can get this delivered right to your front door by visiting the Frontier Records website.
