The Goblet of Fire

Yesterday my Aunt and Uncle took me to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It was a sweet movie. They even treated me to popcorn and a soda! It was really nice to actually get to leave the house and go somewhere thanks to their generosity. I never read any of the Harry Potter books, but I have seen all the movies so far, and own the first three on DVD. I liked all of them, but the last one was probably my least favorite. I think this new one was way better than the last, and easily as good, if not better than the first two! It was a really entertaining story, a nice long movie (2.5 hours), and had a good pace and really good special effects. I won’t go into much details in case anyone who reads this hasn’t seen it yet, I’ll just say it is a really solid film, and is a great way to spend a couple hours and is well worth the price of admission to go check out. And I will be adding it to my “to buy list” of DVDs when it is released and I’m able to actually afford to buy things again someday.

Goblet of fire is my least favorite of the series too.
This is my first visit here but I enjoyed the husker post. I’ll be reading through some archives, hope you don’t mind.

  2. Yeah, I thought this one was the best so far, except that John Williams didn’t do the score this time, and I think the movie suffers because of it. But not so much that it isn’t an enjoyable movie to watch. I mean it’s not like LadyHawke, where that crappy new-wave techno soundtrack completely ruined what might have been a somewhat entertaining flick. It’s not that Goblet of Fire’s soundtrack sucks hard, it’s just not a John Williams score.
