R.I.P. John Loder

I just learned today that John Loder passed away. Any underground music fan of the past 20 years has probably heard his name. He recorded plenty of great bands over the years, and started Southern Studios/Records who distributed such upstanding records as Touch and Go and Dischord, among others.

I didn’t know him, I never had the pleasure of speaking to him, however the work he did with the bands I love will remain with me forever and from everything I’ve read, he was one amazing person. My condolences go out to his family and loved ones, the world of music isn’t going to be the same.

wow I had heard about Madame Wong but not John Loder! That is a true loss. I had met him a couple times while I was working at Touch And Go and he was really nice. Man that is sad.

I have just discovered that John Loder passed away.I was extremely shocked and in disbelief.I used to supply John with computer printers and consumable products.I could always count on him to buy something from me when i needed to reach targets.I’m not in that business any more and only learned of this by chance on the internet. He was a good man. May he rest in peace.
